What's Fair About Fair Tax - Part 3

One of the problems the government has faced over the years has been the ability of folks to “work under the table”, resulting in an underground economy that thus far has been able to avoid paying taxes.  In fact, some estimates indicated that $2 TRILLION of the economy is underground in nature.

But under the Fair Tax, consumption is taxed, rather than income, meaning that the taxes “owed” by an individual are collected at the point of purchase as individuals and families by the things they want and want –and that brings that estimated $2 trillion of the economy back to the tax table with the rest of us.
